Outdoor Skills & the Art of Showing Up

A one-day fall/winter intensive where teens build real outdoor competence — fire, shelter, navigation — while practicing the social skills that make a team actually work.

What they'll learn

Fire in cold, wet conditions

Ferro-rod starts, tinder prep, and a team fire-build challenge.

Shelter & layering

Basic emergency shelter building plus a real cold-weather layering system.

Navigation on foot

Map and compass basics, then a paired mini orienteering course.

Cook a hot meal outdoors

Simple, under-$10 field meal, made and eaten together as a group.

A limited number of scholarship spots are held for neurodivergent teens and teens facing difficult family circumstances — ask us about availability.
